Shade

(3 stories)

#130story

I saw a white rabbit in a waistcoat
Running fast through a wooded glade
He was rushing and rushing
All of a huffing and puffing
Quickly disappearing into the shade
I seeked but rabbit seen was know gone
From this world to his own he did fade

Voices from the woods

We like to grow in sunshine
We shrivel in the shade
We find safety in our numbers
And peril as a single blade

We like to stick together
Spreading out our roots
We’re a band of brothers
Not idealistic shoots.

Has Jim been funny with you since they've put the house up for sale?
What do you mean Tom?
Well, he threw me some shade this morning!
What does that mean?
I have no idea, Sandra, I read it in a magazine. It's cool to say.
Perhaps that's why he's being funny with you!
